“Take Off Under the Sunshine” Day Care Training Center

This was a poverty-reduction day care training project for migrants to Shanghai. Overall, 138 people were trained, out of which 83% implemented their skills, finding jobs at 1,800 yuan/mo (or $ 8/day). It was the first time they had received this kind of training in Shanghai.

The 1% Fund contributed to teacher salaries, classroom rental, textbooks, and utilities. Subjects included ethics, development, pathology, hygiene, hands on nursing, nutrition and infant exercise.
