As the selection of our projects is becoming increasingly competitive, we expect the final approval of funds on current applications to be made near the end of 2023.<\/b><\/h1>\n

\nThe Fund is interested in supporting projects which reflect the Sustainable Development Goals (see website<\/a>) for example the environment, training for women and education including libraries. Note that we do not support health clinics as our projects should be income-generating.<\/b>\n<\/p>\n

1 – Criteria for Project Selection<\/h2>\n

In the interests of geographical distribution, at this time, the Fund is not accepting applications from India, Sierra Leone and Uganda.<\/h3>\n

To be eligible for one of our grants, your project should:<\/p>\n

\n
1. Not exceed $5,000 (US dollars). Please submit your grant request both in USD and your local currency.<\/li>\n
2. Be funded only by the UN Staff 1% Fund \u2013 NY and by community resources.<\/li>\n
3. Be owned, managed, planned, implemented, operated, maintained and monitored by the people in the community themselves. An intermediary body (such as an NGO or aid agency) mandated by the community may assist the people in the implementation of their project.<\/li>\n
4. Be income-generating and foster self-sustaining development.<\/li>\n
5. Address basic needs at the grassroots level.<\/li>\n
6. Act as a catalyst (a model for projects in other communities).<\/li>\n
7. Not require payment of ongoing salaries.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

   2 – Fill out the application form<\/h2>\n

   In your project proposal requesting funding from the UN Staff 1% Fund \u2013 NY, please include the following information:<\/p>\n

   2. Where is the project located (country, province, district, village)?<\/li>\n
   3. What is the name of the community organization that is sponsoring the project?<\/li>\n
   4. Who is the contact person for the project? (name, email address, function\/title)?<\/li>\n
   5. How many people will benefit from the project?<\/li>\n
   6. What is the present local situation that the project seeks to address?<\/li>\n
   7. How will the project address the situation?<\/li>\n
   8. What is the total amount requested from the UN Staff 1% Fund \u2013 NY (in USD and your local currency)? Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.<\/li>\n
   9. What resources will come from the local community and beneficiaries?<\/li>\n
   10. What is the planned duration of the project?<\/li>\n
   11. How will the results or achievements of the project be measured?<\/li>\n
   12. What is the name of the bank used by your organization (required for payment if funding is approved)?<\/li>\n
   13. Please provide the organization\u2019s registration with the local government (please attach a copy to your application)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
